A big birthday

This is another birthday put together for a class  – if you want to come to one of these awesome classes check my SU business site for my schedule 🙂

It was inspired by a make and take, put together by my ‘granny’ upline Madonna, when she came south of the border for a team meeting. Changed to a Colour Coach combination of Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze and fiddled just a little bit this is what I came up with.

The circles are “mushed” together after going through the Big Shot with the lattice embossing folder (carried over from the Summer mini thank goodness and therefore still available)

  • Stamp Set – Word Play, Confetti
  • Cardstock – Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
  • Ink – Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo
  • Other – Big Shot, Lattice Embossing folder, various circle punches

A cupcake birthday

Guess what???? It’s another one of those birthday cards……you didn’t believe me when I said I’d made a lot, did you?

This one features the very cute cupcake punch from our new Autumn/Winter mini.

Crumb Cake seems to be spending a lot of time on my desk recently- the pink has disappeared for a littel while!! And I have been enjoying playing with ribbon in a few different ways, this one is a very easy ruffle, the messier the better- I like it 🙂

  • Stamp Set – Party This Way
  • Cardstock – Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler
  • Ink – Crumb Cake, Marina Mist
  • Other – Marina Mist striped ribbon, Sticky Strip, Cupcake punch, 1 3/4″ circle punch, Extra Large Scallop punch

A bunny box

At a recent Easter projects class we made this very cute little top note box

I got the tutorial from Danielle Daws as featured on the Just Add Ink website. Fantastic clear instructions 🙂

Anyway, we stamped the cute bunny from the Greetings Eight set (retired) and coloured him with markers before layering it onto the Early Espresso ribbon and tying the whole thing together.

When opened up it’s big enough to fit a dozen Cadbury mini eggs…strangely the ones that were inside this box went missing……

Happy Birthday Ma

Another quick post to show you the birthday card I made for my mum while she was here visiting us in January.

I asked what she would like and she said brown and pink and a pelican……well I don’t have a pelican but I thought the birds from the Aviary stamp set are very cute, and they do have feathers, so they were close enough.

Brown = Early Espresso  Pink = Pretty In Pink Mum liked it so it must have been OK.

This particular Stamp Set is AWESOME in clear mount because you can see exactly where the little birds are going to sit inside. After stamping onto the white I added a piece of Early Espresso edged with the Scallop Trim border and wrapped some ribbon around it before mounting to add some dimension. Finished off with a birthday sentiment and another little bird inside and task completed!!

  • Stamp Sets – Aviary, Happy Thoughts
  • Cardstock – Early Espresso, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White
  • Ink – Early Espresso, Pretty In Pink
  • Other – Scallop Trim punch, 1 1/4″ circle, 1″ circle, Pretty In Pink stain ribbon

Twins- double the love??

Back to preschool this week so I’ll share a quick card I made during the holidays. My mum needed a card to take to a baby shower for twins, we’d been shopping for a gift, so the card had to match the cute little jumpsuits she’d bought- of course!!

The colours we chose were Soft Suede and Crumb Cake with some Real Red and Basic Gray to finish off the colouring in .

There HAD to be two little matching suits so I used these from the Baby Tees wheel rolled onto some watercolour paper and coloured with my trusty aquapainter.

Some polka dot embossing through the Big Shot, sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how versatile this set is) punched out with the Word Window and mounted onto the Modern Label, some Soft Suede ribbon simply knotted to finish it off and DONE.

I was pretty happy with it- hope the mother to be liked it too 🙂

My Best Card Ever!!!

******WARNING******  There are boobies in this post.

I had to call this post “my best card ever”, because that was the response I got from my husband Steve, when he opened it last week 🙂

First let me start by giving you a little history….. Steve has supported my little craft obsession- but is not a particularly crafty person himself (I don’t think many husbands are LOL). Well his birthday was coming up and I (stupidly) said “what would you like on your card?”…….quick as a flash his response was “a naked chick riding a dragon with a skull in one hand and a sword in the other- and I want it black and gray like a tattoo”. AH HA challenge issued!!!!

I thought about it for a little while and this is what I came up with…….

I thnk it fulfilled all of his requests!!!!     He was certainly happy with it.     I’m just a little scared about what he’ll ask for next year 🙂

The dragon was CASEd directly from one created by Sam Post that you can see here. The only change I made was putting him through the lattice embossing folder to create his scaly skin.

The rest is a punch art naked chick (with the boobies I mentioned earlier), the skull is cut from an image on a Stampin’ Around wheel, the little sword I just snipped out and attached to the screwdriver from the Totally Tools set.

I’d list all of the punches used to create this card but I think it’s just easier to check out the punch page of the SU catalogue and put a tick next to most of them. If you desperately need to know, email me, and I’ll shoot you the details.

Hope you like it as much as he did 🙂

More mini milk cartons..

I was having a play last week with this very cute Big Shot die. And I thought I would share a couple of the results with you.

The first colour combination came straight from the Stampin’ Up colour coach- Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze and So Saffron.

First I stamped the dots from the ‘Confetti’ stamp set with Poppy Parade ink, then used markers to colour in the saying from the ‘Got Treats’ set and mounted that onto some Baja Breeze cardstock. Taped the whole thing together with the awesome sticky strip and added a mini library clip to hold the top in place.

And what doesn’t the owl look gorgeous on???  I put him together with the Elegant Soiree DSP (I think this particular print looks a little like feathers) and added some blue eyes ’cause I had some Baja scraps hanging around on my desk.

Woodgrain background stamp in Chocolate Chip on Crumb Cake cardstock and the top tied up with some of the 1/8″ Very Vanilla ribbon and that’s all there is to it.

Which one do you like the best??
