Imagine the SU possibilties

Sharing with you a card I made recently for some ladies who have joined my team this month.

I used the Growing Green stamp set for the foliage and the sentiment is from Word Play. The colour combo is straight from my trusty Colour Coach- Old Olive, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight.

So ‘WELCOME’ Helen, Janita, Adele and Debbie :)

Hi! So where have I been??

I won’t bore you with where I’ve been and what I’ve been up to but instead will start to share what I can…….

Believe it or not I have recently done some stamping, classes, workshops, and other fun stuff including my first ever Stampalicious Team Retreat :)

We headed off to a gorgeous house down near Byron Bay and spent nearly 48 hours stamping and smiling and generally having a blast with other stampers.

Here are some of the ladies hard at work…..

We had a Christmas In July theme to kickstart our cards for the silly season and also give us an excuse to light the fireplace (it was actually a DVD) swap some gifts and have a big Christmas dinner.

Friday night we had our own Masterchef, Nicole, cater for us- Thanks Nic, it was awesome!!!

Over the weekend we also competed in a Mystery Box challenge, as well as a couple of colour challenges,

and even a pressure test modelled around a covention swap made by the talented Nicole Derendorf . I think you’ll agree that Helen got pretty close :)

Here are some of our challenge winners proudly showing off their wares.

A great weekend was had by all and I’m already trying to come up with some new ideas for next year!!

September brings a brand new Idea Book & Catalogue to Stampin’ Up Australia :)

AND it’s pretty nice too. If you don’t have a copy just contact me and I’ll get one to you.

I held my catalogue launch last weekend and had a blast with a great group of ladies.

As soon as I have a minute or two I will photograph some of our projects to share with you all.

YEP that’s right I’ll be back!!!

A bunny box

At a recent Easter projects class we made this very cute little top note box

I got the tutorial from Danielle Daws as featured on the Just Add Ink website. Fantastic clear instructions :)

Anyway, we stamped the cute bunny from the Greetings Eight set (retired) and coloured him with markers before layering it onto the Early Espresso ribbon and tying the whole thing together.

When opened up it’s big enough to fit a dozen Cadbury mini eggs…strangely the ones that were inside this box went missing……

Sale-a-brate with me!!

Sale-a-bration is here!!! One of the best promotions offered by Stampin’ Up and it’s on from now until March 31.

There are three ways for you to earn free stamp sets:

  • Spend. For every $100 you spends, you can choose one Sale-A-Bration set.
  • Host. For every $600 in workshop sales (product sales before tax and shipping), a hostess can choose an exclusive Sale-A-Bration set. This is in addition to the already fabulous hostess rewards!
  • Join. New recruits can choose any stamp set from the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue (valued up to $79.95) when they become a demonstrator during Sale-A-Bration.

So contact me to get your own free stuff, SOON :)

Me being appreciative…

Yep- still alive. Just been busy getting organised for my first ever Hostess Appreciation Night being held at my place tonight.

Here are the invites that I sent out to all of the lovely ladies (yep-they’ve all been ladies…no men yet???) who have had me at their places for workshops in the last 12 months.

I have made a small gift for each of them, and they will be completing a project each, as well as having some fun with fellow addicts stampers. And because it’s Friday night we might have a wine or two and some snacks too. Wanna come next year??? Just host for me in 2011……

I will post some photos of what’s been made, after tonight, so noone gets a sneak peek :)

Surprise, surprise, I’m back!!!

I know- you thought I’d been abducted by aliens……unfortunately it’s not that exciting. Instead I have just been caught up in the whirlwind of life :)

I could give you lots of excuses including end of year activities, trips to Victoria as well as Christmas and all that entails BUT I’m sure you don’t want to read about that. So instead I’ll just tell you the good stuff that’s to come.

New Year’s Resolution #1 Blog more consistently!!!

I plan to take the photos in the sunlight  and actually get them online too.

I will take some photos in the morning and get back to you…….I promise.

New look????

So what do you think?????

I read somewhere that people dislike dark backgrounds on blogs ’cause it makes them hard to read. So in the spirit of that I’ve done a little change- still plenty of chocolate brown around but should be easier to read.

Let me know your opinion….stick with the change or go back to the wood????

Shell xox

Edited to add…….3 comments that were happy with the wood- I’m going back!!

Thanks

One of the Top 10 boxes

Here is my friend the owl back again but this time he’s sitting on one of boxes that comes straight from the Big Shot. Box #2 is a new die in this catalogue and I can see it having a big future in my house at least. This box has already appeared in my previous Kimono Kids post, and I’m sure will be in a few more to come, so I’m adding it to my Top 10.

I have already decided that I will be making about 50 of them this December for Max and Ned’s classmates :)

Before that though I will be using the box for a couple of my workshops and that’s where the owl decorated box comes in….

Don’t you wish you could come along???

  • Stamp Set – Pocket Silhouettes
  • Cardstock – Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree DSP
  • Ink – Early Espresso
  • Other – Big Shot, Box #2 die, Owl punch, Oval punch, twine, dimensionals

Top 10 in a kimono

Lots of great stamp sets in the new catalogue…..one that immediately caught my eye was Kimono Kids. I haven’t actually bought this one myself BUT I do have a friend who only lives 2 doors away that did buy it :) So during the recent school holidays some friends, Nic and Casey, came over to do some stamping and I got to have a play.

My uplines upline Madonna challenged me to  add some Pumpkin Pie to my life so I combined that colour with this VERY cute stamp set and here is the result….

A little box that I could fit a few choccies into and a 3 x 3 ” note card to match. Of course these had to go into the post and are now living at Madonna’s house!!

  • Stamp Set – Kimono Kids
  • Cardstock – Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Rose Red, Watercolour paper
  • Ink - Stazon Black, Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red
  • Other – Big Shot, Box #2 die, 1 3/4″ circle punch, scallop circle punch,  black satin ribbon (non SU), aquapainter
