Look what I got!!

 Well I just had a quick look back over my blog and noticed that I said I’d show you some of the swaps I receieved and I haven’t done that yet.

I got so many gorgeous swaps that it’s hard to narrow it down to a couple of my favourites. It’s inspirational to see how much effort goes into them and how many talented stampers there are out there.

I haven’t shown you my other convention swaps I made.

They have one very obvious thing in common……..the scallop circle die. The big shot made producing these things quick and easy and fun too!

Now that I have these photos in place I’m not overly happy with them- can’t take them again- they are now spread all over Australia with other demonstrators. You can see some of the detail and I’ll just have to tell you about the rest.

Convention gifts II

On our first night in Sydney I was lucky enough to get together with my family for dinner and my little sister, Natalie, stayed the night.

To celebrate (and just because I could) I made her a small handbag with chocolates inside as a pillow pressie.

An awesome idea that I pinched from my equally awesome upline Madonna (Hi Mads!!!). She left these for all of us at our retreat back in March, and we loved them so much, I decided to share the love xxxxx

Convention gifts

Thought I’d better put up a picture of something I’ve actually made, not just people, so here goes….

Here is the box of essentials I put together for my friend, upline, roomie, neighbour, Mege.

All the things necessary to survive convention, lip balm, nail file, tissues, hand cream, breath mints, headache tablets and her favourite cuppa.

Well we came back in one piece so it must have been successful

I used Megan’s favourite paper- Raspberry Tart to cover a small round box for her, added some stitched rose red ribbon and a little bit of bling to the M on top with the Supa Nova glitter. I liked how it turned out and I think she did too.

Day 1 continued…

This is me with my “make and takes” made at convention, and below is my upline and convention roomie, Megan, “cheating” on her project by getting the gorgeous and talented Kirsty Brown to tie her ribbon for her.

Sock Monkey made it to our session and our team leader, Madonna Dunn, was also there in spirit.

Convention- Day 1

Stampin’ Up annual convention, Sydney, May 21.

First thing we do is register and receive our 2 new stamp sets!!! Yep, that’s 2 new sets and they are ones that aren’t in our current catalogue????? Must be in the upcoming release September1….

Next swaps, swaps, swaps. Over the week I will show some of the gorgeous work I received but first let me show you some of the display boards a selection of the swaps are displayed on.

Why am I showing you this board? Because if you look closely you can see one of my swaps in the bottom right corner- must be doing OK to get one up on display?????  Here it is so you can see it better…..

This is a design that  I came up with to use on of my favourite papers and of course the always popoular chocolate chip!

Well today’s the day…..I’m of to Sydney for Stampin’ Ups annual convention. That means 2 full days of stamping, swapping and socialising- HOORAY!!!!!!! I’m so excited it’s ridiculous- like a big kid going on school camp.

Annual convention is the main reason I joined Stampin’ Up, and that was nearly exactly a year ago 22/5/09. How special is that???!!

Can’t wait to meet loads of talented stampers and pinch share their ideas. I’ll fill you in when I get back

Spending the day with a sock monkey

As some of you may have heard, I managed to injure myself at work yesterday, and as a result have been at home, leg up, for the past two days. The HUGE advantage in this situation is I have been able to complete swaps, pack and get organised for convention with time to spare (there had to be a positive).

 

Because I was home for the day I also got the job of keeping Madonna’s sock monkey company before he accompanies Megan (my upline and neighbour) and I to convention. Here he is sitting on my desk—yes I had time to clean it—- looking after my box of swaps.

Isn’t the box gorgeous???? It’s brown and flocked, yep flocked, a gift from my generous upline, thanks Meges

Swap sneak peek

Hip hip hooray!!! They’re done

Above is a sneak peek of my swaps for convention. Couldn’t decide what to do so I ended up with 4 different designs as well as a couple of different colour combinations. Unsurprisingly there is a lot of chocolate chip cardstock, ink and DSP amongst it!!!

Swaps, swaps, swaps……

You know when you’re aware you should have done something ages ago and then you wish you did??? Well that’s me-swaps for convention- for every one I take I get to bring back one belonging to someone else- sounds simple.

How do you decide what to take??? Just throw most of your stamping supplies, paper, DSP, stamps, ribbon, brads, punches, etc on the table and attempt to make something original and gorgeous- again simple. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

I think I may be almost there
