A big birthday

This is another birthday put together for a class  – if you want to come to one of these awesome classes check my SU business site for my schedule :)

It was inspired by a make and take, put together by my ‘granny’ upline Madonna, when she came south of the border for a team meeting. Changed to a Colour Coach combination of Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze and fiddled just a little bit this is what I came up with.

The circles are “mushed” together after going through the Big Shot with the lattice embossing folder (carried over from the Summer mini thank goodness and therefore still available)

  • Stamp Set – Word Play, Confetti
  • Cardstock – Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
  • Ink – Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo
  • Other – Big Shot, Lattice Embossing folder, various circle punches

A cupcake birthday

Guess what???? It’s another one of those birthday cards……you didn’t believe me when I said I’d made a lot, did you?

This one features the very cute cupcake punch from our new Autumn/Winter mini.

Crumb Cake seems to be spending a lot of time on my desk recently- the pink has disappeared for a littel while!! And I have been enjoying playing with ribbon in a few different ways, this one is a very easy ruffle, the messier the better- I like it :)

  • Stamp Set – Party This Way
  • Cardstock – Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler
  • Ink – Crumb Cake, Marina Mist
  • Other – Marina Mist striped ribbon, Sticky Strip, Cupcake punch, 1 3/4″ circle punch, Extra Large Scallop punch

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone!!! I hope that the Easter bunny found you and left a load of treats for everyone at your house.

The O’Neill’s are camping – at least the boys have the great outdoors to run off some of that sugar :)

  • Stamp Set – Teeny Tiny Sentiments
  • Cardstock – Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Elegant Soiree DSP
  • Ink – Chocolte Chip, Soft Suede
  • Other – Big Shot, Ovals die, Scallop Trim border, twine, oval punches

Another birthday

Here comes another one of those birthday cards, and there’s a touch more brown on this one too! You might have to look closely but there is a small strip of Early Espresso hiding on all that Pumpkin Pie. Have I told you how much I love Early Espresso??? That’s why there’s only a small strip of it- it’s about all I could spare for the 9 kits I had to make up considering I’ve been through about 3 packets all on my own :)

Back to the card……..made for Stamp-a-stack using Party This Way (I know I told you how much I like this set) instead of cutting out all the balloons a few of the circle punches made quick work of the card.

A colour combination from the Colour Coach and versamarked balloons on the background for texture and it came up pretty well.

  • Stamp Set – Party This Way
  • Cardstock – Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Whisper White
  • Ink – Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Versamark
  • Other – 1″ & 3/4″ Circle Punches

A brown birthday

Here’s another one of those birthday cards I made, and this one has brown in it, Soft Suede to be precise.

I have found the ‘Party This Way’ stamp set to be very versatile, I’ve used it for girls, boys and adult cards.

This one also uses Cherry Cobbler and tearing to give it a bit of a masculine feel (I think).

I do believe my brother-in-law got this one for his birthday.

  • Stamp Set – Party This Way
  • Cardstock – Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
  • Ink – Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler

A bright birthday

I recently made a stack of birthday cards, some for workshops, some for stamp a stacks, and some for the boys to take to birthday parties. This is one of the ones I liked the most. It’s super quick to put together and has been a hit with a few little girls Ned has been hanging out with :)

I know, it’s bright isn’t it!!! This colour combination came straight from the Stampin’ Up colour coach and I do like it.

Yep pink and flowers AGAIN…. I will definitely show you some brown stuff again soon.

  • Stamp Sets – Printed Petals, So Happy For You
  • Cardstock – Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
  • Ink – Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise

Bye Emma…

A co worker and friend, Emma, left work this term (she will be sorely missed) and this is the card I made for her.

Her favourite colours are blue and green so that was my starting point….

and this saying just seemed very appropriate for her new endeavours…..’go confidently in the direction of your dreams’.

  • Stamp Sets – Word Play, Confetti
  • Cardstock  – Pear Pizzaz, Pacific Point, Celebrations DSP
  • Ink – Pacific Point, Pear Pizzaz, Real Red, Versamark
  • Other – Big Shot, Circle die, Real Red satin ribbon

Just Add Ink #54

Every week I check out the challenge at Just Add Ink and every week I contemplate playing along, now I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or something more, but I only ever seem to get my act together when it’s a colour challenge. Well this week it’s a colour challenge and I have played along.

Here are the colours for this week

Yep – pink- 2 pinks….and I did it :) Bear in mind some of my favourite browns are there too.

I just got these 2 sets in the mail this week and didn’t need too big of an excuse to break them out. Make A Monster is another great set in clear mount- makes it easy to those eyes, mouth, etc exactly where you want them. I tried to make the monsters look a little girly to go with the pink- what do you think??

  • Stamp Sets – Make A Monster, So Happy For You (free Sale-a-bration set)
  • Cardstock – Early Espresso, Regal Rose, Watercolour paper
  • Ink – Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Regal Rose, Rose Red
  • Other – Early Espresso DSP, Regal Rose ribbon (retired), Aqua Painter, Sponge, Dimensionals

Happy Birthday Ma

Another quick post to show you the birthday card I made for my mum while she was here visiting us in January.

I asked what she would like and she said brown and pink and a pelican……well I don’t have a pelican but I thought the birds from the Aviary stamp set are very cute, and they do have feathers, so they were close enough.

Brown = Early Espresso  Pink = Pretty In Pink Mum liked it so it must have been OK.

This particular Stamp Set is AWESOME in clear mount because you can see exactly where the little birds are going to sit inside. After stamping onto the white I added a piece of Early Espresso edged with the Scallop Trim border and wrapped some ribbon around it before mounting to add some dimension. Finished off with a birthday sentiment and another little bird inside and task completed!!

  • Stamp Sets – Aviary, Happy Thoughts
  • Cardstock – Early Espresso, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White
  • Ink – Early Espresso, Pretty In Pink
  • Other – Scallop Trim punch, 1 1/4″ circle, 1″ circle, Pretty In Pink stain ribbon

Twins- double the love??

Back to preschool this week so I’ll share a quick card I made during the holidays. My mum needed a card to take to a baby shower for twins, we’d been shopping for a gift, so the card had to match the cute little jumpsuits she’d bought- of course!!

The colours we chose were Soft Suede and Crumb Cake with some Real Red and Basic Gray to finish off the colouring in .

There HAD to be two little matching suits so I used these from the Baby Tees wheel rolled onto some watercolour paper and coloured with my trusty aquapainter.

Some polka dot embossing through the Big Shot, sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how versatile this set is) punched out with the Word Window and mounted onto the Modern Label, some Soft Suede ribbon simply knotted to finish it off and DONE.

I was pretty happy with it- hope the mother to be liked it too :)
